2nd Semester = Complete!

All I know is, as I sit here, in the beginning of third semester I am happy that 2nd is O-V-E-R.
After the "passport fiasco of 1st semster" and the recent "RJ did not visit and I suck at learning 2nd semester" I have come to the conclusion that every semester will have its challenges. Oh yes, on this beautiful island in the middle of the gorgeous southern carribean, life is not all puppies and beaches. So why did I think that is what it was going to be like when I first landed here? Pretty naive, I know. I was so elated to be attending veterinary school that I was truely blinded.

Enough negativity already! I WANT TO BE HERE! The challenge of all of this will mold all the students here into resilient little veterinarians, with the ability to take on any challange and also the ability to appreciate a good BK whopper when it's presented. I look forward to what's to come!

Here are some things I did over second semester!!

I believe it was after our second round of brutal mental death (exams) that we went to port to have some frozen drinks. There is a Fat Tuesdays in port now so needless to say there was quite a variety of frozen drinks to go around. It has become somewhat of a habit to get a large handle sized daquiri from Fat Tuesdays before we go out. I think this is acceptable considering we only go out about twice a semester...it is well earned.

It's great to smile and laugh (:

After Fat Tuesdays apparently I thought I was a baller because I bought a couple rounds of shots for everyone...again, I see it as money well spent. In order for me to remain sane I need friends willing to let loose a bit, therefore, I got them all drunk.

Yup....

This was a beautiful hike through a rainforest. I went on this hike once before, it was to see the bat caves. This time I walked even further to see the water falls. They were really pretty, however, after about 2.5 hours of hiking I expected Niagra Falls, which was not the case. A scenic hike nonetheless.

Really large tree with lots of roots

That's me in the background walking up the side of this huge boulder waiting my turn to hurl my body up it via a flimsy rope. ALL upper body strength so I struggled quite a bit.

Getting down and dirty

Oh yeah
Jenny, Kat, Lindsey, and I

Jenny and I, I am not sure why I don't look happy to be there, I enjoyed the hike.

This is a picture of me at my first Veterinary Conference! I know, I am super important! Well, actually my roommate, Jenny, is super important because she is our class representative and she got invited and invited me as her guest. It was the West Indies Veterinary Conference. I went to a lecture on heartworm which was full of a lot of pertinent information. I would imagine that this conference will be different from those I will be attending in the states as it was in back of the Marriot Resort with the Atlantic Ocean and swim-up bar surrounding the dinner.

I was a busy bee studying this past semester, but I learned a lot and am grateful now I can identify every disgusting parasite that is living on Arthur (:
