I made it!

Well I made it through my Vetprep prep program and now I am in my first semester in professional veterinary school....hmmm how long did that take? I don't like to harp on details. Anyways, I am really excited about it! Now I get to stay up all night studying, overdose on red bull, and develop large dark circles and more grey hair! I have ordered my books and all the materials I need. I have tried to look over some anatomy over my 2 week break but have not been too productive on that front. My neighbor was kind enough to watch my baby Arthur while I am away, though I am sure it will be the last time she watches him (he has already chewed his food bowl into a million pieces), I am grateful nonetheless.

Living on a caribbean island for 4 months, I can lend some insight for anyone wanting to partake on either attending Ross University or literally want to move to a caribbean isand. For the most part, it was great. Most of my friends and family asked me if I was distracted by the beautiful scenery and beaches. I can honestly say I was not. I can back that up by commenting that if one is so committed to something that they are willing to move thousands of miles away from family, friends, and perhaps a fiance for months on end, I would venture to say that little will distract that person. In fact the beautiful surroundings was more of a positive influence on my study habits. At MSU when it was snowing or dreary out, my overall mood would be pretty unfavorable, but with sunshine all the time there is no need to be crabby. This "perpetual uncrabbiness" is what will get me through this first semester (:

I am pleased with the univeristy and all the professors thus far, yes there are those professors I like more than others, but you find that at any university. My first semester class will be experiencing a lot of "firsts" for Ross University. We are the first incoming class into the AVMA accredited school!!! We are also (hopefully) the first to experience the new and very lovely large animal building. We are also the first to not perform disections in anatomy lab. We will get already prosected cadavers which, I am told, will lend more time in class to actually learn rather than stand there with my hand up making bets and death threats for the teachers attention. I can appreciate the reasoning for the anatomy lab to be changed to this format, however, I am unsure whether or not it will be effective...stay tuned.

After finals about 2 weeks ago one of my friends had a bar-b-que to celebrate!

Love these group shots (:

Blowing off some steam. Maddie and Alicia were kind enough to raid their landlords garage and find a fabulous grill and flip cup tables...whatever it takes!

Arthur joined in on the festivities and he was pretty good boy. I absolutely loved how tired he was after!

Here is a string of some pictures of the island.

Downtown Bassetterre

Church downtown

Driving through some of the neighborhoods.

This is the center of Bassetterre, it is called the circus.

The circus

I made some purchases...I just had to RJ haha

I found this creamer at the grocery store and was completely filled with emotions... I remember using this creamer in my coffee right before RJ and I went for a walk on the beach at Myrtle Beach..the walk that changed our lives!

Alright, I know you want to see pictures of my little Arty growing up...your wish is my command (;

Arthur is running next to me on the right...you can kind of see him.

Study time

I am determined to have a water dog...get in the water Arthur!

He celebrates all holidays...St. Pattys Day

He plays with lots of dogs that fellow classmates have.

He "plays" with them

How cute!

Arthurs stomping ground after the beach

He definitely cannot fit through that hole anymore

Spoiled?

Yah he ran down the beach after some kids..

YAY I missed my Angel! She is such a sweety.

I was so excited to see all my friends when I got home! So happy that they had time to meet up with me (:
