You would be doing yourself a disservice if you do not visit me (:

So I have been mixed with emotions pretty bad this week. When I got off the plane I was absolutely elated!! I was so excited to find my apartment, start school and get to know the island. The runway was a bit sketchy, as I had a window seat when we landed and finished rolling on the runway there was not much runway to spare. It pretty dropped off a cliff after like a hundred yards or so ( I am bad with acknowledging how far something is so it was probably like a mile haha). The flight went really well and the man sitting next to me I am pretty sure thought I was on drugs because I kept looking at him and looking out the window and smiling saying how excited I was...He was nice also telling me to be too trusting of others and be safe, so I must have given him the impression I was flighty. Anways, my Ross orientation leader met me at the airport, her name is Mallory. She might as well have flown down on angels wings because she is super nice and super helpful.

Our driver, West, drove us all to our apartments. West will be a for sure go to when it comes to calling a cab. He is very nice and helpful, pretty much our bitch for the entire week, but nonetheless a nice guy with a family. He lives in one of the poverty ridin villages on the island, sooo sad to see these places.

View from our porch which we share with our neighbor that is also some type of student in the medical or vet profession because we peaked in their window and saw a white coat. (PS I got sized for my white coat hooollaaaa). Our neighb is not there right now because they are not back from their break yet.

My sparse room, she'll do for now. No complaints compaired to the room size I lived in at MSU!!

I picture of someones legitimate house on the island, poverty is no joke here.

YES! Th orange juice is over $18.00!!! haha No I am just kidding that is in the Eastern Carribean dollar (EC). If you divide that by 2.7 that is the USD which is still very expensive...I spent ovar $150 USD on grocerys when I arrived on the bare minimum!!! So I am planning on going to markets and getting cheap produce and packing everything else haha.
This is the entrance to Ross University!!! Yay, it is a really pretty and modern campus..Interesting note that the AVMA accredidation people will be here in about 1 week!!! That means that I will not have to jump through any hoops to practice in the US as AVMA stands for AMERICAN Veterinary blah blah..very exciting. It will be just like attending a Vet school in the US if it is acredited by the US standards. All schools in the US are AVMA acredited. Ross University is accredited, just by the Carribean accreditation thats all...Anyways, very exciting. It also saves me about $10,000 in extra testing costs when I arrive to practice in the states.

These pictures are from a little nook in campus you an go to and relax.

Our cafeteria haha, we absolutely do order lunch from huts!

I have to go because I am in lecture!!! More to come!!

Hi hi! I cam across your blog and found it very helpful and interesting! My daughter was just accepted to Ross and will start in a few weeks. She will be living in the dorms her first semester. We are already looking onto off campus housing and your place looked very nice. Do you have any suggestions on where to live and where not to live? Thank you and Congratulations!!
