Puppy and SCUBA!!

SOOO yes I am fostering a puppy with my roommate Jenny. I signed up for this task through the PAWS organization I talked about in a previous post. He is adorable!!! Only 6 weeks old!! I must admit, I was a bit nieve in thinking he would be wrapped up in a bow all fluffy in clean when we got him...this, sadly, was not the case. I am so overwhelming happy that Jenny and I were able to provide this puppy the opportunity to get out of the environment he was in. He is slowly regaining a lot of strength that many parasites had leaked out of him. Lucky for us that PAWS supplied all the materials needed, including crate, bowls, food, ect. We are only to provide care and LOTS of loving! I am almost positive we are sticking with the name Arthur, Party Arty for fun. He only woke up 4325 times last night, so I am hopefule things will get better /: I will absolutely keep it posted on his development.

He just collapsed here, happy to be out of dirt and fly infestation!

Holy big belly!
Jenny is pain-stakingly plucking out every engorged tick from the poor little guys ears.

At school there is a Scuba club that you can join and it is pretty great because you become Scuba certified. The class consists of a couple dives in the pool and a couple out in the ocean, a written exam, and then you are open water certified. If I want to dive to greater depths and see things like shipwrecks, I will have to take a couple more classes. One thing at a time, I just used a regulator for the first time today!! I am not going to lie and say I was a beginner pro, the first time submerging my head under water I was so startled by all the bubbles coming out of my regulator when I exhaled that I almost up and left. After awhile, you get the hang of it and it doesn't seem all that wierd to breathe underwater.

I am taking this really seriously...

The instructor knew me pretty well, he said I was for sure going to get too cold in the pool so I needed a wetsuit...I thank him for this because I was the only one that did not turn purple!

The damn thing was hard to put on though, skin tight! It was a childrens XL, go figure...

Our instructor had to help me zip-up.

And after all that effort I had to take part of it off so he could lecture us on what we were doing today...

Just putting my weights in my BCD pockets, no biggie..

Welp that tank on my back was pretty heavy out of water...my noodly stature was taking a beating.

Getting situated with the group, all Vetpreppers and another kittitian that was pretty insistant on limeing with us after (limeing means partying) /:

I lost quite a bit of hair taking my mask and snorkel off and on.

Jenny is so cool.

aaaaaand we are under!! phew, I didn't drown in a pool!

I am "saving" Jenny here because she is too "tired" from playing with the puppy all night...

Yay for wetsuits!!!
